Minecraft, a video game about building blocks, one of the best selling video games of all time, the ultimate pillar to showcase your creativity. Minecraft provides you with a 3D canvas to create anything you have the resources for, but by tapping into the code, we will have the power to create anything we can imagine. Introducing the Minecraft modding class, allowing students to have full control over their 3D game world.
By teaching students the programming and technical concepts behind video game modding, this course will empower them with the ability to modify video games. Students will be using LearnToMod - an online platform for modding Minecraft using Blockly - a blocks-based programming language. They will be able to programme and manipulate the functions of different objects in Minecraft, and that is just the tip of the iceberg of what they could achieve. Students will be granted access to this platform during the course period.
Through modding, each student will have completely unique worlds, they will be able to share them online, and impress others with items that the original game doesn’t have. Students will be able to explore their unique worlds filled with their original mods, share it with their friends, creating a fun while educational experience.
