This course introduces the fundamentals of logic and coding using Ozobot. An award-winning robot, Ozobot is equipped with proximity sensors, optical sensors, bluetooth and a microcontroller. These facilitate the transition from screen-free coding to blocks-based coding.
Using color code, a free-form language that can program Ozobot, students will control Ozobot’s movement by drawing with color markers or using color-bar stickers. Through engaging with Ozobot, students will unleash their creativity and develop logical thinking skills through various hands-on tasks, including making a maze and directing Ozobot to reach different targets.
After getting familiar with color-code, students will transition to block-based coding using OzoBlockly, a web-based platform to code Ozobot. Expanding beyond the color code, students will practice and explore how to program movement, lights, and sound effects, as well as learn about loops, variables and functions. Understanding these concepts will give students a solid foundation for diving deeper into blocks-based coding.
