At First Code, we believe that learning continues beyond the classroom. Genius Hour aims to foster a community of creators, where students can come together outside of weekly lesson time to continue building their favourite coding projects with guidance from our team of instructors.
'Do things Tell People' is one of our core classroom values, stemming from our belief that confidence and taking pride in our work is a key life skill for young learners. With First Code Pitch, students take to the stage to showcase their projects and get inspired by peers.
Since 2014, the yearly app development competition has inspired a community of coders from as young as age 8. Open to all students from the region, the competition has seen range of creative apps that have gone on to win prizes at the global AppInventor Summit at MIT in Boston.
