Designed for imaginative young minds, this course uses Scratch, a block-based programming tool developed by the MIT Media Lab to give young students a hands-on first try at programming. Students learn key computer science concepts such as sequences, loops, conditionals and abstraction through building their own fun projects of animated stories and multimedia games. Guided by our team of professionally trained instructors at each step, students are encouraged to design and create creative games, and to think deeper about the programming processes powering apps and games they use daily.

Scratch: Algorithm Composing

This course provides a deep dive for students familiar with Scratch programming to solidify their understanding of key computer science concepts. Through creating more advanced and interactive games and projects, students familiarise themselves with using concepts such as sequences, loops, conditionals, abstraction and object-oriented programming. Systematic programming is also introduced, paving the way for more integrated learning with hardware at the higher levels.

Genius Hour

AppJamming Summit

Since 2014, the yearly app development competition has inspired a community of coders from as young as age 8. Open to all students from the region, the competition has seen range of creative apps that have gone on to win prizes at the global AppInventor Summit at MIT in Boston.
