Tinker Core Program - Age 6-8 | Level 3

Tinker Level 3 shows students that computer coding can command physical objects. By applying important computer science concepts including loops and conditionals, students create code to command the robots to follow lines, kick balls and push objects.

Combining quick feedback and iteration programming in Scratch, students start to understand abstract programming concepts through tangible representation from robots.

Programming Robots

Following Tinker Level 2, students apply learning outcomes to programming commands for actual physical objects! Combining quick feedback and iteration programming in Scratch, students also start to understand abstract programming concepts through tangible representation from robots. Using mBot, an Arduino-based, extensible robot kit, students create commands to follow lines, push objects, create useful LED displays and more, to practice key computer science concepts such as loops and conditionals.

Arduino: Introduction to Hardware Programming

In this Arduino course, students are introduced to mBlock extensions and hardware programming, to continue building up programming concepts applied to the real world. After familiarizing with Scratch blocks-based programming, and commanding actual physical objects through mBot, this course explores mBlock features which empower students to control the real world with code.
Using mBlock extensions, students integrate their understanding of software programming on Scratch with creating commands for physical hardware such as mBot.
