"Every day at First Code I work on a variety of different tasks including product development, teacher training, parent communication, and of course, teaching! I feel incredibly lucky to be able to combine my passion in technology and the endless inspiration from the kids we teach. When I’m not at office, you can likely find me trying out new recipes in my kitchen, reading a book or doing TRX in a park."
"I love building things from nothing to something. I am now focusing on Operations, People Operations, and Software. The laughter in our classrooms and the confidence in our kids' eyes really got me. First Code is not just a startup or a coding school, it is a mission and a lifestyle. We're creating a place where team members are excited to get together and students are thrilled to come to classes. We're full of dreams, energies, and determination. If I'm not at First Code, you might find me at home coding or reading and running outdoor."
"First Code’s culture is fun and enjoyable - we're just like family. I love the fact that everyone here is so open and supportive of each other. What really puts a smile on my face is seeing the kids showcase their work. You'd be amazed at what they can accomplish! In my spare time, I’m most likely playing basketball, skateboarding, shopping or chilling out with my family and friends.”
"Being an instructor at First Code is a fun and rewarding experience. With its amazing team and students, the First Code family is one that supports, encourages and learns from each another. The students bring so much energy and excitement into the classroom, and seeing them apply new and personal ideas to their technological creations, sometimes even beyond the classroom, is truly inspiring. In my free time, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, knitting, solving puzzles and eating chocolate."
"First Code Academy is a magic palace with positive, joyful, friendly and energetic elements around. Full of laughter and satisfaction in everyday classes. You discover what is called " the infinite universe of a child" in here, as kids rely on their creativity and their knowledge of coding to make their own apps, even if they are only 6 years old. You can see how presentable and how confident the kids who learn in First Code are.
Team spirit is really strong in FCA, our working culture is like a family, friends more than colleagues. We learn and help each other, even if we all have different roles. I work on a variety of tasks including administration, planning, and decision making. I feel amazingly lucky that I work here, back in the education field. My idea of the perfect day would start with an Americano. When I am out of the office, I am the amiable mom taking care of my daughter, being a tutor for her school work, a bedtime storyteller of my little sweetheart as well as a recreation team leader of my family too."
"It’s truly enjoyable to see students create their unique apps and projects using what they have learned here, and I feel particularly inspired by the kids’ constant eagerness to learn more. First Code is more than just a workplace; it is also a family, a community, a reading club, and a running team. Outside of First Code, you will find me playing lacrosse with Hong Kong Lacrosse Team, running or hanging out with my younger brother."
"Ever since my first encounter with coding in my freshman year in university, I have always been amazed by its power. I have always wondered - “why start coding so late?”, until I got to know First Code. Teaching young people to code? Brilliant idea! I am so jealous of what kids can learn nowadays - it would have been one of my favorite after-school activities! Now here I am - in a young team full of energetic and supportive people. Being in First Code is not about "working" at all - I learn, grow as a person and inspire the future generations. Everything has been so rewarding and enjoyable here. What's the best part? My hobby is now part of my job!"
"Being part of First Code is a true testament to ‘doing what you love’. Every day is a challenging and fulfilling experience, and I am constantly inspired by the eagerness and curiosity of our students and how our instructors would do whatever it takes to create the best learning experience. The culture at First Code is friendly and collaborative and I am very excited to grow, learn and build relationships with our students. And I’ve always wished that my mom had sent me to First Code when I was young!"
"Now learning coding in my spare time, I believe in the value of coding in teaching young children that the sky is the limit. It's wonderful to see students proudly showcasing their work and staying back after class, excited to be working on more coding projects. Outside of First Code, I'm seeking Singapore's best coffee, binging on Netflix or browsing through new productivity apps and tech news."
"Having experienced first hand how technology is able to amaze, inspire, and have an impact on people, I feel privileged to be able to teach the next generation and provide the same experience to them. Seeing the satisfaction in students when they finish their project and the excitement to share and amaze others is very rewarding. Outside of First Code, I will be trying out and learning from the latest games, and spending time with family and friends."
"Rarely do you get to work alongside a group of positive, talented and motivated individuals all striving towards the same goal. First Code Academy is truly a special place! It’s unbelievable to see what kids as young as 4 years old can create nowadays. During my spare time, I enjoy fitness dancing, reading, and watching shows on Netflix."
“Working at First Code Academy has been rewarding. I am motivated by students who are keen to learn and to explore what they can create with different learning tools, both in the lesson and outside the classroom. I am also grateful to have a supportive team which inspires me to be more knowledgeable, professional but nevertheless, empathetic and kind.”
“I had an appreciation of coding and computers, particularly automatic processes and robotics since I was a child, but I wish I could start coding earlier. When I am not learning new programming and coding concepts, you can usually find me looking up movie and book reviews.”
